Our Marine Science Internship on Gili Air is designed for recent marine science graduates eager to gain hands-on field experience and contribute to meaningful conservation efforts.

Program overview
Our program offers an exciting, hands-on adventure into marine conservation. As an intern, you’ll:
- Dive at least five times a week
- Get certified as a PADI Scientific Diver and PADI Deep Adventure Diver
- Learn how to collect and analyze valuable data
- Contribute to research projects that help protect marine biodiversity
- Join in on conservation efforts, from coral restoration to shark research
- Gain a deeper understanding of marine ecosystems, setting you up for meaningful careers in environmental science and conservation.
Internship Requirements
Here’s what you need to join:
- Open Water Certified with a minimum of 15 logged dives.
- Able to work outdoors, both in the water and under the sun.
- Indonesian citizen, 18 years or older.
- Studying or having studied a field related to marine science.
- Basic English speaking skills to collaborate effectively with the team.
- Available to join the program for the full four months.
What’s Included in Your Internship?
We’ve made sure this program gives you everything you need to succeed. Here’s what you’ll receive:
- All training and certifications
- Basic salary of 2.500.000 IDR per month
- Diving insurance
- Two weeks of free housing on arrival.
- Access to our research facilities and participation in conservation projects.
- All diving equipment and support for research dives.
- Mentorship from experienced marine scientists and conservationists.
What’s Not Included?
- Travel costs to/from Gili Air
- Accommodation
- Food allowance
Timeline
We have one internship spot available starting 5th of October
- 1st of May – 31st of July 2025 – Application process opens
- 1st of August – 15th of August – Selection and interviews
